Old Georgetown Road over Cowhouse Creek

JSR was the Prime Contractor on this Design Build project and the construction of a new bridge structure on Old Georgetown Road over Cowhouse Creek. Scope of work included the construction of bridge with a total 2,819 cy of concrete, to include 30 piers of various dimensions; 4 abutment foundations with back and wing walls. Other scope of work included 4 column bents; 4 column bent caps; concrete riprap 2 abutments; 6 shear key; concrete bridge deck; concrete rip-rap bent 2; and flow fill 2 abutments, asphalt approach roadways ( 1600 Tons of HMA), embankments, scour protection, channel modification, establishment and maintenance of storm-water prevention pollution plan, road signage, guard rails and traffic control. JSR removed the existing low water crossing roadway consisting of concrete and large elliptical corrugated piping, and demolition and removal of an existing 6 span bridge consisting of concrete and steel beam spans and one truss span.
